Ink & Watercolor - Illustration Studies
These watercolor and ink illustrations explore the space between memory, history, and atmosphere. Created through intuitive washes and expressive line work, each piece allows water and pigment to move freely before form is gently suggested rather than defined.
I am drawn to the historical — to cities and structures that feel present yet indistinct. Architectural lines, distant horizons, and fragments of built space appear as echoes, surfacing through soft veils of watercolor and then receding again, like places remembered rather than seen.
Figures emerge within these environments as passing presences. Loosely rendered and often anonymous, they feel untethered to a specific time or narrative — more like impressions than individuals. Their softened edges and gestural marks suggest movement, pause, and transience, reinforcing the sense of being briefly held within a moment.
